Based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Australian Illustrator and children’s book author Chloe Jasmine Harris works both digitally and traditionally using a mixture of watercolour and gouache. Chloe loves working with colour and experimenting with placement of colour in her charming slightly vintage feeling illustrations.
Is there a film that has had a direct influence in your work? I love Moon Rise Kingdom by Wes Anderson. The colour palette, composition, every about it is really inspiring!
All time favourite album to listen to while drawing? Tough choice… Lately it’s been Arcadia by Lily Kershaw. Floaty and dreamy, perfect drawing music.
Chloe studied Fine Arts at the National Art School majoring in printmaking and specialised in the technique of etching.
When not illustrating you will find Chloe at the dog beach with her staffy puppy, scouring vintage shops for treasures or hiking in the magical Blue Mountains.
