March 12, 2014 A selection of custom illustrations created by Mira Nameth for Kullen, the new Clarion Collection Hotel Arvidsjaur, Sweden. Used to decorate the hotel as large scale posters, they are inspired by the wilderness and stark beauty of the Swedish North, Lapland. They were created in conjunction with the interior design, together with the interior designer, Linda Rönnlund.
They were also featured by Behance on Drawing Served one of they’re ‘Served’ sites curated from the whole Behance creative community.
The project had a personal feeling for Mira “I love the North. My family and I walked in the mountains for about a week when I was 6 years old, and it was an awe-inspiring experience. It’s full of beautiful dichotomies – the graphic contrast of the black details of mountains and forests against the white snow, the grandeur of the landscape versus the harshness. I also wanted to convey a certain sense of impending or inherent danger, both from the landscape itself, and its wildlife: The owl hunting, the beautifully curved reindeer antlers with pointy ends.”
Makes us want to jump on the first flight to Sweden.

Mira has also recently been asked to be an Adobe Mentor for rising talent.” I was contacted by Elizabeth Carbonell of Icograda, Adobe’s partner for the 50-for-50th Adobe Mentorship Program, to help positively influence the next generation of designers.
The mentors choose 10 students from the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, ADAA, which showcases individual and group projects created with Adobe creative software, and honours talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, developers and computer artists from the world’s top institutions of higher education. One student is mentored over five sessions, and 9 students are offered portfolio reviews.
I’ve done many portfolio reviews before as a Creative Director, but very much look forward to do it for these students, in a constructive, positive and real way.”
